ABOUT ART PEOPLE

ArtPeople ry (ArtPeople association) was established in Finland in spring 2023.

The idea of ArtPeople is to bring together art and artists from many art fields and from different cultures;

to create mixes that bring out new, inspirational, multicultural, and thrilling art and cultural experiences.

ArtPeople creates mainly various forms of stage productions and workshops

most often in the field of performing arts and music.

At the moment, ArtPeople is focusing on children's cultural productions that combine Finnish traditional cultures

of Saami and Karelia with performing arts and workshops.

Staging dance theatre projects where children participate together with professional artists

is one of the current main themes in the activities of the association in 2023-2024.

The latest project is Dance on the Borders ("Tanssia Rajoilla"), where Saami and Karelian culture is being explored.

"Tanssia Rajoilla" is a project where artists are working with children from local indigenous communities to strengthen their knowledge of their own Finno-Ugric cultural roots, whether they may be from Kalevala, Sámi or Karelian cultures.

The work is done through the means of dance theater projects in Finland's border states of Estonia and Norway.

The current projects are called "GAM2" and "Etelä!" ("South").

The project Etelä! has received funding from Finnish Cultural Foundation (SKR).

"Making art that brings positive energy.
Art that really can make a difference!"
